Zoe Saldana (born June 19 in 1978) was the daughter of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Saldana, who reside in Passaic New Jersey. Her father was Dominican while her mother is Puerto Rican. Her birthplace was in Queens. The family she was raised with moved from Queens, New York in the Dominican Republic when she was 10; they lived there for seven years. Zoe discovered a love for dancing while in Dominican Republic. Her first training was with the ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet as well as other types of dancing. It was a great opportunity for an energetic kid. But it proved to be also a fortunate precursor for the beginning of her career as a professional.
