Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. First foreign-born graduate to serve as president of the highly regarded debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. After graduation she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice platform that gave critical opinions regarding the state of affairs. The fame she gained helped her to convince several stars to voice their views on current events, political and culture. Arianna gained fame after she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall Election in order to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed the Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its top 10 list of Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group and also included several additional AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and journalist. Although she had a close relationship with both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. She showed leadership traits throughout her childhood. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she was the president of the Cambridge Union. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she became an editor of the critic's column and a television host. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing the books she wrote with Bernard Levin's assistance.
